When it comes to a cake for your baby shower you can either pop out and order a cake from your local bakery or you can make your own cake and, personally, I would choose to make my own cake every time simply because making and decorating a baby shower cake is great fun.
Well, the simple answer is that you don't. Unlike a Christmas cake for which you really do need to follow a traditional recipe, baby shower cakes can take any form you like from a fruit cake covered in marzipan and with a hard icing to a simply 'devil food' cake with a rich chocolate frosting. You can even opt for cupcakes if you like.
In other words the cake itself is very much a matter of personal choice and you can simply follow you own favorite cake recipe because there really is no such thing as a specific baby shower cake recipe.
Of course the real fun is not so much in making the cake as it is in decorating it!
